An estimated 70 million people globally need wheelchairs but do not have access to them. Around 2.4 billion people are living with a health condition that would benefit from rehabilitation, and a significant portion of them—over 50%—do not have access to these vital services.
Without mobility, a child can’t go to school, a parent can’t work to support their family, and too many are left isolated.
1,752 hospitals, health centers, and disabled people’s organizations supported
8,321 professionals trained
150,026 mobility aids provided
670,094 lives impacted in more than 60 countries
Momentum Wheels for Humanity creates lasting, transformative change by:
Providing high-quality wheelchairs that can be custom fit to each user
Training local healthcare workers
Advocating for governments to change national policies
Supporting people with disabilities during conflicts or natural disasters
When someone in need gains access to the care and tools that improve their physical independence, they can meaningfully participate in society. This not only elevates their quality of life but also benefits their family and community.

The world is facing an unprecedented rise in humanitarian crises fueled by conflict, climate change, and economic instability. The strain on resources is immense, leaving millions without access to essential medical care. The UN predicts nearly 300 million people will need humanitarian aid in 2024, an alarming rise from 274 million in 2022.
In emergencies, people with disabilities often receive whatever assistive products are available, whether they fit their needs or not. Using the wrong equipment can severely limit mobility and lead to dangerous health complications. That’s why providing appropriate, quality assistive products during crises is critical—not just to save lives, but to protect long-term health and dignity. Since 2014, we have delivered over 30,000 high-quality, appropriate wheelchairs and other assistive products to more than 40 countries.
Our Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction Project aims to bolster the resilience of people with disabilities to the effects of climate change.
